Also known as 'Chain Plant', 'Day Flower', 'Widow's Tears'

The leaves are plump and lance-shaped, around 1-2 inches long and up to an inch wide. They curve inwards like tiny green boats with vibrant purple striping on the undersides.   The bronzy-green tops add an extra punch of color too.

Give it bright indirect light, average environment of 60-80 degrees F, humidity of 50-55% and moderately moist, fertile, well-drained soil coupled with bi-weekly feeding during the growing season.

This Tradescantia requires repotting only when extremely pot-bound as it grows best when slightly root-bound. Regular pruning is needed to keep it neat, to reduce pest and disease infestations, to encourage a bushy growth and to rejuvenate growth.
