Calliandra californica 'Mexicali Rose' PP36387, aka 'Mexicali Rose', 'Fairy Duster'

Hailing from the southwestern United States and Mexico, 'Mexicali Rose' is a unique hybrid of the Calliandra californica species, developed and introduced as a Civano Original by Civano Growers. Well-suited for arid environments, this Fairy Duster hybrid is an excellent choice for landscape designs in regions with similar climate conditions.  Does great with urban gardens and streetscapes.  The hallmark of 'Mexicali Rose' is its striking red flowers, reminiscent of vibrant roses. The color is unique, and while it is still a red, it leans to a hot pink rose. 

Thriving in full sun, 'Mexicali Rose' achieves its best floral display when exposed to abundant sunlight for at least six hours per day. While the hybrid is drought-tolerant, providing consistent water during the establishment phase is essential.
