Gloxinia is a flowering houseplant related to the African violet, known for its large, velvety leaves and showy, trumpet-shaped flowers. To care for it, provide bright, indirect light, keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy, and maintain high humidity. After flowering, the plant needs a period of dormancy, where you should reduce watering until the foliage dies back, then store the tuber in a cool, dark place before repotting for the next season.
