Tradescantia Purpusii is also known as Tradescantia sillamontana, or White Velvet, a low-maintenance plant with fuzzy, silver-green leaves and bright magenta flowers. It needs bright, indirect light and should be watered when the top few inches of soil are dry, as it is drought-tolerant but susceptible to root rot from overwatering. Its care is simple, though it can cause skin irritation, so it should be handled with gloves, and kept away from pets and children as it is toxic if ingested.
