Calathea is also known as snake plant, with eye-catching stripes and veining; it enjoys being watered regularly to maintain being constantly moist (but not soggy). They prefer loamy soil, rich in organic matter, preferably slightly acidic or neutral.
Calathea do best when temperatures are between70 - 85 degrees F, no lower than 60 degrees F. For humidity they prefer levels of 50% or higher. At maturity, they can reach 1 - 2 feet tall and wide.
