Provide organically rich, neutral to slightly acidic, well-drained soil. Keep roots cool with a thick layer of mulch. Water deeply, regularly in first growing season to establish root system. Once established, reduce frequency; tolerates mild drought. Apply an acid fertilizer after bloom. Blooms on old wood; prune after flowering.
