Expanded perlite is used in horticulture to improve drainage, aeration and for a better moisture control in the substrate, setting the best conditions to grow strong and healthy roots to obtain high-yielding plants. Hortiperl G is a coarse grade with a high aeration capacity so, it is recommended to be used mixed with other substrates that have low moisture retention, such as peat moss or coconut coir.
